4.8 Features of Audio Software
4.8.1 Editing
- Audio software can be used to modify audio files
- This includes things such as reducing the length of an audio file, increasing its volume, or changing the sound entirely
4.8.2 Converting
- Audio software can also be used to convert software from one file format to another
- For example, while a FLAC file may be commonly used for music, many programs only support formats such as MP3, so audio software may be necessary to convert the FLAC file into an MP3
4.8.3 Exporting
- Audio that has been edited in the audio software can then be exported to audio files, allowing them to easily be shared and used in other software.
- Popular file formats used for exporting audio include lossy file formats, such as MPEG Audio Layer-3 (.mp3) and lossless file formats such as Waveform Audio File Format (.wav) and Free Lossless Audio Codec (.flac)
7.5.5 Modem
- The component responsible for bringing the internet into a network.
- The modem serves to convert digital signals from a computer into analogue signals that can travel over a phone line, and convert analogue signals from the phone line into digital signals to be sent to the computer, allowing computers to access the internet.

We are a group of design students from Mount Lawley Senior High School seeking to offer our design services to the Perth Children’s Hospital Nutrition & Dietetics department. Our aim is to redesign documentation as needed in order to more clearly and effectively communicate the necessary information, with the goal of making it quicker and easier to understand for both parents and patients.
